Knock on whatever, but our appliances have resisted their annual summer failures.
There's every possibility that it's due to the fact we've had to replace darn nearly everything, but we'll take what we can get.
However, the latest twist on busted stuff is that we've killed 3 digital cameras since last week.
Seriously.
No real explanation for any of them other than digital camera rapture.
It was just their time to go, I suppose.
I gots to have a point and shoot-ish digital camera before BlogHer.
I have my lovely Canon Digital Rebel, but I'm not sure I want to carry that with me every day and I always keep a camera in my purse.
I've taken to entering online contests to win a camera, but what is up with all of them being open to UK residents only?
I don't live in the UK, but I take lots of pictures.
Where for art the "Win a camera!" contests in the US?
We didn't mean to kill them, honest.
Great, now the digital SLR camera police are probably going to investigate me to see if I'm fit to have one, or if there's digital camera abuse going on in my house.
I'm calling you if I need a character reference.

for a sony digital camera
I know the feeling. Our digital camera broke last month at our daughter's 7th birthday party. how annoying it was.
I've also been wondering what to do with my ginormous camera at BH.
Although, shleping it could give me some great arm muscle definition!
Um - don't call me because the SLR police will probably be at my house issueing whatever warrents they have - and they may nab you, too. You see, we killed two cameras in the last six weeks; one was KOed with a jammed button and the other was, um, well, ah, dropped by a frazzled mom who shall remained nameless. So, I'm sad to say, you might want to get your references somewhere else.
I gave up ever trying to win a point and shooter, and bought a Sony cyber shot...I really like it. It isn't (obviously) my big ol Canon with all my lovely lenses, but it's small and goes everywhere with me, and takes a darn good picture.
Alan just got me one of these babies and it is taking some great photos:

Less than $100, too! And so easy even I can handle it and I have yet to crack open the instruction manual.
Do let me know what you wind up winning/buying ;). I am in the market for a new one, too. And just for the record, we refer to our entire home as the House of Appliance Hell! Here's a link to a post from the past: http://www.whitetrashmom.com/2006/10/house_of_applia.html
Let's meet up at BlogHer with our new cameras!

I don't know if you're much into photo contests, but they are having a vacation photo contest here ...

and they have several prizes, including digital cameras.
win a camera in the UK??? where, where?
I mean, I have two cameras that I like already, but another couldn't hurt
U realize U just cursed all appliances.
Camera abuse will not look good on your rap sheet. Bjut I guess you know best.....
Why does it always happen that way...that everything breaks down at the same time. It's that same feeling when you finally get your kid to look at the camera and the moment you want to take a picture...the battery dies.
I need a new camera before BlogHer, too. I have a Rebel XTi and a Sony Cybershot (but not the small, slim, regular looking Cybershot, the big one) both are a bit bigger than I'd like to carry and I keep saying I need a new small one for in my purse anyway, so... If you find a good deal let me know!
