What now?

Today's episode of "W.T.F?" finds your heroine, Busy Mom, unable to go downstairs in her own home without having an asthma attack.

And her teenage daughter is in the middle of hosting a party.

With boys.

Let us go back in time:

Busy Mom woke up this morning feeling none better, and set out to Doc In Ye Olde Box (no, smartass, not the "box doc") where, after a 3 hour wait, the nice doctor says, "Sick! You are..."

She gave Busy Mom a breathing treatment, 2 shots, 3 medicines, a chest x-ray (clear) and the proclamation that, "asthma that just pops up like that in an adult can be serious, get thee to the pulmonologist at once."

Busy Mom reminded her that Busy Mom was actually sick last week with likely bronchitis and the first dose of antibiotics probably just pissed off said bug and that Busy Mom probably didn't have a pulmonary embolus, or cardiac asthma (the heart thing, what is with the heart thing? Am I really "that" age?).

Doc in the Box sort of agreed, but admonished Busy Mom that Busy Mom would have to be hospitalized if it got worse.

Busy Mom went on her merry way actually feeling a bit better with her pretty new pills and inhalers and went home to get ready for the party.

Busy Mom ordered pizza for the party and had a rip roaring coughing fit much to the chagrin of Habib the pizza maker on the other end of the phone who simply wanted to know how Busy Mom was going to pay for the pizzas and had no time for this respiratory failure nonsense.

Busy Mom went upstairs away from the party to cough and sputter and possibly vomit and sat down and folded laundry.

Feeling much better with her nattily folded dishtowels, Busy Mom went downstairs to join in the revelry where she promptly spasmed out again.

Thus ends today's episode of "W.T.F." with Busy Mom afraid to go downstairs in her own home and her teenage daughter is in the pool with boys.

The End.

It's nice that you can laugh instead of whining.

I hope you feel better soon.

Is it the end because you passed out or is it the end because you blew your stack and grounded your daughter till she is 30?

Uh. Do you need me to come over and supervise? Because I TOTALLY will.

I sure do remember those summer night pool parties as a teen.

Come to think of it, you may want to take Lindsay up on her offer.

Ha, if I weren't exhausted from having a 3yo bday party, I'd volunteer too. I'd like to be on party patrol w/ S.T. I've heard she's wicked fun.

Are there cheeseburgers?

And, I hope you feel better!!

You have a pool?!! Just kidding....we're all starting to get very concerned, BM....is BusyDad home to help you out? You must take it easy! (Ps BusyGirl will behave. I have the utmost confidence in a teenage girl I've never met.)

Sorry to hear you're so sick! I came down with something after I got home from San Francisco - much milder, so far, than what you have. Was it something we picked up in the lounge? Hang in there-hope you're on the mend!

Hope you feel better!
I'm afraid of the days when mine is old enough for teenaged boy/girl parties...

Man, that sucks. Have you considered maybe you are allergic to teenagers? Do you have Vicks on your feet?

btw, no more third person, mkay? ;)

Can I send Madi over?
Actually the thought of (as they used to call it at church camp) "mixed swimming" is almost enough to make me cough spasmodically. And possibly vomit.

I am truly sorry you seem to have hit the Shit Lottery this week.

I hope you manage to get the right drugs to help you feel better, and if the doctor prescribed ones don't work, you could come visit my side of town...

Do you have some binoculars where you can at least SPY from upstairs? And can the boyz (those that are your offspring) go haze the other dudes so no one flirts around with BG?

Feel better soon.

Still? Ugh.

I agree with Judy-start peeking out those curtains!

WTF indeed-and it's JULY! This cough that won't end is weird, but you're doing everything you can to get it checked out and treated. Now it just needs to go away!

Not so good. I hope this attack has eased up, and that you have an appointment with the pulmonologist.

Cas
Take care

Teenage daughters in a pool with boys.

I kinda feel sorry for the boys.

Pretty sure I'm going to be allergic to having teenagers too.

Courage.

Hope the breathing thing passes with nothing more serious. . . and that none of the boys died an untimely drowning death. :-)

Ugh.. I have nightmares like that! But then Busy Girl is no Lillith... Feel better soon.

Maybe...just maybe... this is the dog's fault.

I don't know, I'm just sayin' is all...

This is where the older brother thing would come in handy. I have no worries about ThePrincess being in the pool with boys because GameBoy will smack them all down....
Now Gameboy in the pool with girls is a whole other story and of course I have to worry about the smackdowns he's giving to boys who look at his sister...
Crap this is complicated. Hope you're feeling better today.

Are you feeling better now? Hope the party didn't run too late on Saturday...

I hope you are feeling better today and that the party was a complete success from both you and Busy Girl's perspectives!

Feel better soon, anxiously awaiting the follow up post regarding how the pool party went.

Teenage Girl + Teenage Boy + Pool is not = to BusyMom's Happy Place.

Is there a way for my 4 girls to skip this teenagehood nonsense? Pretty Please?

BusyMom, BusyMom where are you? Hope you are feeling better, you must post an update soon because we are worried about you!!

I hope you feel better soon. I'm as sick as a dog now too. A very very sick dog.

Hope you're better. A little better?

I hope you're feeling better. Reading this reminded me of my 14th birthday. My family had just moved to the 'burbs from the big city, and I was allowed to have a party - and to invite boys! The day before the party, my mom was hospitalized with acute pneumonia. My dad was home with us, but ended up having a beer too many and allowing some of the boys to have a beer, too (this was a while back; I'm over 50 now). The neighbors couldn't wait to call my mom at the hospital and tell her about it. I'm sure you kept a better handle on things!
