Need a Rottweiler? We have an extra.

Need a Rottweiler? We have an extra.

Big guy is still with us.

We're going to put up some posters and call the Humane Society, but I doubt they'll have room for him.

We'll take him to the vet to check for ID, but I'm not going to hold my breath about that.

Well, I shouldn't hold my breath, anyway give the fact I haven't been breathing right since mid-July.

Um, whatever...

Anyway, I'm pretty sure he was dumped, we live out in the country, kinda and it's happened before.

This is actually our second uninvited Rottweiler.

Local folks? Ask around, post his picture.

And if, oh, say you work in the media and have a popular blog?

It'd be awesome if you'd help me out.

(@nitweet, I'm looking at you)

He looks awful sweet. Its too bad you don't have a rottweiler rescue group in your area they're usually a good resource.

Too bad he's so far away. He's a good looking fella and I'd have no trouble placing him here. I know a lot of "good ole boys" who'd love them a handsome big dog to play Xbox 360 with.

I still hold out hope, though, that his owners got lost. :-(

Hello. I recently added your blog to my reader. I enjoy your writing and look forward to reading your blog posts.

Hope you find a home for the sweet big dog.

BTW -- are in you Missouri?

I wish we were closer! My dad would probably take him. He has 2+ acres complete with small pond and ducks to chase. Dog heaven, just ask my dog Roadblock. She loves to visit GRUMPa. (He's not grumpy, it's just how DD said it when she was little, and it stuck.)

I have sent this to a friend of mine who is coming back from Tenn on their way home to Florida. As soon as I hear from him (he is a deputy) I will email you.

Damn you had me right up to the popular blog thing...

I'm terrified of dogs. I think I would have a heart attack if a Rotweiler came around our house. It's funny because I had two dogs growing up, Fluffy and Queenie. I can't have a puppy around before my heart beats a million times a minute:)

Rottweiller rescue is the best option because they'll take all Rottweillers. Check for the Rottweiller Rescue of your state. If you can't drive to them, they may drive to you or at least meet you half way.

I did that with a Whippet my old neighbor kind of foisted on us several years ago. Whippet Rescue of Ohio was three hours away, but I drove him there anyway. It was run by a vet who had acres upon acres of land for the Whippets to run around in.

I just couldn't take him to the Human Society because they might put him down if they don't have room.

Aaaaaw, he's be-a-u-tiful! I wish I could bring him to Maine!

Try petfinder.com
We found two labs (rather, they found us)--I posted a photo on the petfinder classified section and the owner called within 24 hours.
Good luck!

Aw! I hope he finds a home, he's beautiful.

How sad!! He looks so sweet, how old is he? Are you going to keep him if he can't find a new home?

Hello! I'm in south central PA. We could probably work something out if you are within a couple hours from us. Is the Rott kid friendly?

All I know about your location is South; I'm guessing you are not close by. We are about 1 1/2 hours from the Mason-Dixon line.

He's so cute. I hope you find a good home for him soon. How sad that someone just dumped him.

I so wish I could take him! We're at max capacity right now :( I hope you're able to find him a good home...

He is so beautiful and so sad that he was left behind. I really hope he finds a family. It's great that you were able to help him out as long as you have.

I would take him if 1) He's housebroken and 2) he's young child and cat friendly and 3)you live close enough to make it viable. I'm in southeast Michigan.

Hopefully you can find his owner, but if not, I'm sure someone will give him a good home.

That's a shame he is quite beautiful.I hope you find him a nice home.

How nice of you to take the big guy in. Thats so sad that people treat animals like that - just dumping them. Thank God for people like you.

BTW I love your blog, just added you to my BlogRoll., Come and visit us sometime :)
