I wonder why people think mommyblogs are boring?

I'm sick. Wah.

Why, I've been throwing up my toenails, since you asked.

Actually, I finally had to get up out of the bed after nearly 24 hours in it since I was having back spasms.

I'm loads of fun, y'all.

My MIL came for a visit yesterday, and I normally would have been at work.

I answered the door in my PJs around 1pm and she says, "Oh, sleeping in today?"

Yes, really.

Other than that, we're just riding the end of the school year roller coaster like many people.

Seriously, this time of year it's like time happens to you and you just have to hold on tight.

Hold on tight, and pass out $20 bills everywhere.

Gifts for this, field trips for that, fees for summer whatevers...

We've also had a time here because two of our dogs ran away.

They got out of the fence the middle of last week (very, very rarely happens) and didn't come back.

We're heartbroken.

As you know, it's not been a good couple of weeks for pets around here, either.

We've done all the usual stuff, and no results so far.

However, I must say that I've been touched by the many kind people who have responded.

We've had several false sightings and a few people offer their own strays to us (um, thanks?)

People have taken the time to call us, offer condolences and promises to look out for them.

One lady thought she spotted one of them and called me.

I was across town, and told her I was on the way to take a look, but that I didn't think it was him.

I thanked her and we hung up.

She called back a few minutes later and told me that she had been thinking about it, and she went back over to where the stray dog was and that she'd wait for me since he might wander off.

She even assured me that she wasn't a stalker.

It wasn't our dog, but I was so impressed that she took her time to do this.

Yesterday, when the UPS truck came, I drug myself outside to break the news to the driver lady who brings them treats.

They know and LOVE her.

It wasn't our regular driver, but I'll be darned if he wasn't outside giving treats to little Callie, our only dog, now.

He asked about the others and I told him. He was dismayed by the news and said he'd keep an eye out for them.

Anyway, we're hopeful, but realistic since it's been nearly a week.

So, now I'm just home from work sitting here with my applesauce and watching a carpenter bee smash himself into the window over and over again.

I probably have the strength to fold laundry, but I'm not gonna.

**********

Oh, will you vote for me here (last blog listed)?

You're swell. Thanks.

I'm so sorry about your dogs! You sound heartbroken, and I wish I could come over and find them for you.

xoxoxo,
e

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well sweetie and heartbroken about the pooches gone missing. I hope they turn up soon. There's nothing like losing a member of the family, and family they are it sounds like.

Hugs and Prayers for their Speedy Return,

Kim aka TMWW

What an awful week! I really hope the dogs come back - you never know, they still could.

Feel better soon - lots of stuff on your plate. Rest easy.

I'm sending you all the good thoughts I can muster. I wish I could do more.

Oh, I'm really sorry about your doggies. I live in MI, otherwise I'd offer to keep a lookout for them too. I once had a cat disappear for a month. I found him two streets over - he must have forgotten his way home. Don't give up.

Also sorry you're sick - no one takes care of us moms when we're down.

So very sorry about your dogs. What a "silver lining," though, in realizing how many total strangers actually care to help.

I am so sorry about your dogs! I know how heartbreaking that can be - the not knowing, the searching, the worrying - and I hope you find them soon!

Enjoyed reading your blog. Sorry you were so sick! Glad to see a fellow Tennesseean. Clicked some links for you. :)

Dang, if all I can do is wish that this sort of stuff quits you soon. Holding out hope that pups will find their way home, soon. {{{{hugs}}}}

I am so sorry about your dogs. I have been mad at my girl dog for two weeks because she knocked me over and I am still in a lot of pain but I love both of them to bits so I know how hard this is for you.
