Badgering you from Wisconsin

So, I'm in a hotel in Madison, WI for a food-related event (hint: they have something that rhymes with Neener-mobile. More on that later) and since I have some sort of genetic disorder that prevents me from going to bed when I need to, I'm awake.

Madison is a neat place from what I've seen. I think it'd be cool to go to college here.

But, I say that in the summer. Still, I wonder if they have a women's volleyball team...

Nah, too far from home.

Busy Girl is actually in Florida with friends this week, and that's too far for me. She has a bad habit of calling at night (like tonight) and telling me how awful she feels with this that and the other thing.

Then, I obsess about it all night and check on her the next day, and she's all, "What? What are you talking about?"

Anyway...

I had a lovely dinner at with Jenn, ToniLynn, MJ,, Corine and Barb at The Great Dane Pub.

We enjoyed a traditional Wisconsin favorite, cheese curds. They were tasty, but not particularly squeaky.

So, now I'm sitting here...um...not going to bed.

There's some guy talking very loudly in the hall and saying bad words.

Only? With his classic Wisconsin accent (yes, you do have accents, sorry) anything he says sounds so wholesome and polite.

He could tell me to jump up his butt or something, and I'd end up saying, "thanks!"

Oh, please. Like all of your blog posts have a point?

Everyone's a critic.

You crack me up!

The cheese curds were delish!

I too am not sleeping, visiting everyone's blogs and stuff... though I probably should get to sleep soon...

you know, tomorrow is our big filming day... cant have bags under the eyes.

The curds are only squeaky when they're fresh. If you had the Dane's, I'm sure they were deep-fried.

I live about a half mile from the Dane. You should have stopped in.

(And yes, we deep-fry cheese here, and then serve it with a side of ranch. Obesity epidemic? What do you mean?)

mmm... deep fried cheese curds...
I wish I'd known you were coming to my town! glad you like it. I had similar thoughts about your college town when I visited the campus.

got my free weiner couon! thanks! oh, and thank Mr. Meyer for me too!

p.s. courtney has a "oh the many things wrong with me" too. You tune it out after awhile!

I'm guessing Busy Boy IS going to camp, right?

Do you miss us yet?

Cheese curds. . . it just sounds a little , uhm, squeamish. Enjoy your time away, even if it's work!

I think it is safe to say I won't be eating anything with the word "curds" in it. You can have all of that you want.

Had a friend go to UWis in Madison and loved it, for about two months. The rest of the time was too cold for her Texas blood.

If you liked Madison, you should stop by Milwaukee sometime. Lake Michigan keeps us a bit cooler in the summer, warmer in the winter (though not sure what's up right now - 75 today, 55 tomorrow for highs).

Nice to know our accents are wholesome and sweet, even when we are cursing, darn it.

Mmmmmm....battered fried cheese curds!! They are the best. Just found your blog, love it. I have three kids and hate folding laundry like you. Also, I'm from WI and no we do not have accents - you do! Just kidding :)
