Bullet therapy

I've gotten into this weird habit of not posting unless I've already composed a complete entry in my head and I'm satisfied with it.

This must stop immediately as I have a reputation (of less than carefully crafted posts) to uphold.

In order to try to get out of this, I'm going to give you bullets.

Bullets. Taking the easy way out since 2003.

- I bought a new purse. I needed a new purse. However, I haven't had a new purse in so long, I don't recognize this one as mine, and I keep looking all over the house for my purse.

- We're going to visit Busy Boy at camp today, yay!

The part of camp where he lives is a long walk from the car. On rocks. Some down hill. My dad is going with us. Activate surreptitious strolling immediately in from of him to break any fall. Do not let him know what you are doing.

- Like a good bit of the female Internet and some males, I'm going to BlogHer in Chicago this week and I make no apologies about looking forward to it.

I'm not nervous. I don''t have social anxiety. No idea what I'll wear, but I'll figure it out.

I don't care if or when you do product reviews. If you don't act like my BFF, I won't feel excluded. (However? Take my chair and I'm a gonna be pissed. I'm looking at you.) I'm going to some parties and not to others, and that's fine.

BlogHer is a blogging conference. I hope to learn something, make some connections and have some fun along the way. I'm even going to write on my blog about the blogging conference.

In short: I am a freak.

- I have to get up and go to Subway to get some sandwiches to take to camp. I don't wanna think about deli sandwiches at 9:30 in the morning.

- I have many many many things to do before I leave on Thursday and the whole work thing is going to be mighty inconvenient this week.

- I bought some new back pants. I really needed some new black pants. Just thought you'd like to know.

- The monitor on the desktop PC is ADR (ain't doin' right). Apparently no one in this house but me is capable of looking into it except me.

- This weather is unbelievable. It was 65 degrees in the middle of July in the South. Thank you, Canada. You rock.

- My blog is in the middle of a major spam run. Getting on my last nerve, especially since I had to get rid of my .htaccess to make the blog work after hosting company upgraded MySQL.

- I am out of Half and Half.

- My computer bag needs cleaning out in a big way. I used to pride myself on keeping it well stocked, and now I could have a 4th kid in there and not even know it.

- That's good. Maybe I can write a real entry next time.

for the spam stuff, seriously, just kick on authentication. typekey, whatever. takes spam to zero, pretty much instantly.

i ended up just moving the whole comment system on my blog to disqus, got multiple auth types and threaded comments for free. About ten minutes of work.

The only disadvantage is that it doesn't import existing comments. but, it doesn't delete them either.

Okay Busymom, this is NOT directed toward you, but others. I sure hope they do a breakout session at BlogHer about not annoying your readers with incessant blogging and tweeting about how you're going to BlogHer and begging for sponsorships for weeks. Not everybody who reads blogs is a blogger and while we are happy you're happy to go, I am so tired of hearing about it from some that I just click them off my feeds.

Might be an interesting topic to share at lunch! Having said all that, have a great time!

Enjoy the new purse! And the conference! And the new pants. You're my kinda gal!

- I love purses, buy lots of purses at the resale boutique near my home, then carry the same one week after week after week. Strange.
- Half and half is nectar of the gods, makes it possible for me to drink coffee, have been known to go to the grocery store at 5am in my pjs to get some.
- have fun at blogher

I drove past camp this week and thought of your son. Thank goodness for this unusually cool weather!
Even though my mom dropped us off starting at age 5 (babies!), I still can't wrap my mind around sending Andrew until he's 10 or so.

You're not using WP?

Aksimet solves the entire problem with spams on my blog...

Man, I never thought I'd say this, but...your bullets make me smile. See you in Chicago. Is this seat taken?

Have a great time in Chicago!! Sounds like it's giong to be a lot of fun!

Thanks much for that wonderful entry.
