Tuesday, October 6
Haven't written...blah, blah, blah. You know the drill.

From now on, I shall officially stop marveling at the elapsed time since I last wrote something, for every time I do, it just gets longer and longer between entries.

Just the usual goings on around here: kids, work, home, selling my soul, killing babies.

You know how it is, huh?

If you have no idea what I'm talking about there, consider yourself fortunate.

Disclaimer: no babies were killed during the writing of this post, but I may have shed an ethic or two.

At any rate, it's Fall Break around these parts. High school is out all week for some inexplicable reason, grade school is out 3 days, too.

Next week is parent-teacher conferences and the PSAT so everyone will be out some combination of days then, too.

October: all the tuition, now with half the school!

Naturally, I have a rhymes with "flaudit" at work next week and can't be out any, so I'm ready for someone to be sick on the days they actually have school.

Also, getting ready to wrap up fall sports, and you know what that means: coaches gifts!

Busy Dad and I have both coached teams, I get it. Volunteers truly do a lot for the kids and my kids all have exceptional coaches.

However, we have a certain sport that has ten (yes, 10) coaches and that doesn't include my other two kids' coaches. And, well...

I'm finally out of this orthopedic boot thing.

Wait, I guess I never told you about it in the first place, though some of you have even had the pleasure of seeing it

My various orthopedic woes have been acting up and it culminated (SAT word!) in immobilizing my right heel and a hefty round of steroids, much to the amusement (or something) of those around me and on Twitter.

I'm a little better, but still having problems with my plantar fasciitis and I have precisely one pair of shoes I can wear. They're brown. Many of my work clothes are black.

Klassy, yo.

In my steroid-induced craze, I managed to incur the ire of the Tee Ess Ay last week at the place where airplanes land.

I was going through their little line, concentrating on not screwing things up and getting stopped for my boot.

It was also about 45 minutes after my pill, prime crazy time, and I had gotten held up in a traffic jam, so I was already a bit hyper.

I got so focused on the boot, I forgot to take my shoe off and walked through the scanner.

They don't like that.

I got myself sent to "the booth" and became agitated when my stuff (including my purse and computer) was still splayed out on the conveyor belt for the world to take.

I had to wait for someone with the "wand" (I shall call her Wanda) to come examine my shoe.

I offered to go back through the scanner, throw my shoe back outside the scanner, or even to just throw my shoe away (see also: steroids).

They don't like that.

Wanda eventually sauntered over and I realized I had not only been marked because of the shoe-gression, but also because by this point, I was also dripping sweat.
(see also: steroids) and looked guilty of something.

She took me and my stuff aside and did the wand thing, and I was deemed OK, but did get my fingerprints taken.

My dad would be so proud.

I thought I was going to be marked for life and was prepared, but I didn't get stopped on the way home, so maybe I'm just on probation or something.

So, that's me. What have you been up to, my long-neglected friends?

I'm ALWAYS the one who gets taken off my the Tee ESS AY. Good, good times.

Fingerprinted=not good

They have lists, y'know. You might want to bring Wanda some cookies next time you travel.

Bummer.

Hey, those 'normal' things sound great compared to hearing "Let's just send you to the surgeon and let him decide." At least I'll have some answers by noon today. *sigh* A drink last week would have gone a long way to stop the crazy in my head.

forget fashion, orthotics and tennis shoes at all times and I mean even when you get up at night to go the bathroom, real shoes once a year at the christmas party. why haven't you gotten ECSW therapy?

I'm still laughing at the baby killer thing. That's so wrong, isn't it? I caught a bit of all that flack. Or whatever the heck you want to call it. People have a lot of time on their hands. Or something.

I'm thinking maybe the next time you're on steroids you need to avoid air travel! ;)

I made the mistake of letting my drivers license expire while I was on vacation once. I had to wear some huge placard with a red number on it that made me look like a terrorist. Well as much of a terrorist as a nerdy Southern girl can look.

We have been doing about the same around here. School, soccer, work, home, blog.

FINGERPRINTED???? OMG! HOW ABSURD...

Good to see you back! Have missed you!!!

I've been on steroids twice this fall because of my damn allergies. The first go-round I was not warned about any potential side effects. It was a laugh a minute around here.
I had no idea they could do that to a person and I only figured it out after realizing a doctor wouldn't call it turning into a raving lunatic and might use the term "mood swing."
Sigh.
Hang in there.

We missed you so much :) thank god your are back you always come up with great stuff I really enjoyed your article its very nice God bless you busy mama :) keep it up

Very entertaining post! I know how it is to be so busy and not have enough time to do it all. I try to update my blog daily, but it is very, very challenging... nice to see you back!! :)

Glad to see you back. It was getting lonely around here. Let's have dinner soon.

A FALL school break? Yes, I'm sure they need several days of rest after a whole 8 weeks or so of schoolwork.

You got fingerprinted? That's almost as cool as fainting!

I've been on steroids. They. are. evil.

It's my happy day. Somehow your blog has gone away from my life. Now, it's back and I'm reading every hilarious post.

Do you could have any references for what you wrote right here?

Contrary to what other people are saying I think your website could really use some work. I cannot even work out how to subscribe for your RSS.

HOW DARE YOU DELETE MY COMMENT. Good censorship you could have here

First of all - I hope it does cause MLB some major angst. Their role in all of this is significant. Selig should be forced to step down. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE knew what was going on. And rather than confront it Selig and his merry band of synchophants decided to ignore it. Ignore it as Bonds heads swelled to gargantuan proportions. Clemons is a major league tool and frankly deserves what he's about to get......:-)

I had to read your post twice to get the full meaning of it. I enjoy reading what you have to say. It's unfortunate that more people do not understand the benefits of coaching. Keep up the good work.
