Completely Honest

So, Liz tagged me with Completely Honest, and we can all see how my vow to sit down and actually blog on my blog is going, I thought I'd give it a whirl.

Also, when someone on Facebook told me they didn't know I had a blog, I figured I had better get on the stick.

It's very simple, I have to say 10 honest things about myself.

So, here goes:

1. I've recently thought about hanging up the blogging thing. My community has changed, and I'm not sure what I think about that.

Despite the fact that it may look like I have already done so, I probably won't.

However, I do admit to being discouraged by several things, including a sharp increase in online smug self-assurance and righteousness in the name of "discussion".

It's actually just attention seeking behavior, but I get enough of that here at home.

That probably deserves more than the blip I gave it, but there you have it.

2. People think I'm somewhat psychic.

Not in a Stevie Nicks black lace and crystal ball kind of way, but I can freak people right out sometimes if a "feeling" (my, that sounds a little pervy, no?) I have comes true.

3. I wear a size 11 shoe.

4. My toffee addiction has given way to this yogurt parfait thing they have at work. I need neither of these items on a regular basis, and yet...

5. My heel hurts again. Looks like I spent 2 weeks in that boot for naught.

I'm going to see a new doctor, but can't get in until January.

6. I'm giving up one-sided friendships.

However, it has taken me an embarrassingly long time (oh, say...28 years) to figure out that I was in a particular one.

7. I've learned the neighbors have terrible wifi reception on the ground outside their bedroom window.

Kidding. Just wanted to see if anyone got this far.

8. I'm really, really behind on some stuff and just can't get the time to do it and a bit of Procrastination Paralysis has set in.

9. It took me nearly 2 weeks to remember to fill Busy Girl's asthma medicine prescription.

In my defense, she's 15 and could probably have helped with the remembering.

10. I may possibly rip the shower head outta the wall if it doesn't stop dripping.

OK, there ya go. Probably more than you wanted to know.

I'm tagging you 7 (don't pretend you don't see me) over there by the bar.

Spill.

This is cute...honestly!

Oh, you had me at number 1!

I can totally relate! Very funny.

I find it quite stressful to have to read comments that are critical in nature to a blog post then I wonder why I do that to myself. I completely understand the need for two-sided friendships and I too never have enough time to get everything done then all I want to do is procrastinate.

I did read all the way to the end of your post!

I loved it!.

Well, I haven't filled anyone's albuterol - everyone is using expired inhalers. That makes me suck as a mom, but $60a prescription x 5 sets = money I do not have. The allergist says it's ok to use the expired ones, but the school nurse vehemently disagrees. So I just ignore her.

A size 11 shoe. Impressive.

Same here re: item 1.

That said, I'd rather have infrequent Busy Mom than none at all : )

I feel conflicted from time to time, too. Stay or take breaks as needed just don't burn the bridge.

Great read,

guess I had to post something since ya saw me!

This let's people get to know you a bit better.

Just a quick question tho...what kind of readers do you have? and why do you feel they have changed?

JODY in Beautiful BC

Funny thing: I was scanning this in my reader when it first came up thinking that I had clicked on BooMama. When I got to #3 I thought 'Holy Crap she's got a big foot for such a short person." (Even though I've never actually see Sophie in person she seems short to me on the internet. Why do I do that?) I then looked at, you know, the actual blog name.

Well, I thought it was funny, anyway.

I knew your list would be a good one. Glad you're still blogging ... for now. :)

I hope you don't quit blogging (we can't quit you Busy Mom) but I understand. I blame it all on Twitter.

I suffer from Procrastination Paralysis quiet a bit. It just seems easier to put things off and then hopefully they'll just go away. Ha. But then usually that's not the case. Dammit.

You had me at #1 but then I read #2...because I AM that Stevie Nicks lacy kind of phychic. And now I love you more.

PS- I read them all - not just one & two

Wow. I just love your honesty. Good for you and huzzah! If you didn't blog anymore, I think that I would feel extremely disoriented. I don't handle change well so I would appreciate a heads-up in advance if you're considering this option. As for smug "discussions", well just ignore them. Or, delete them. You have the power. Would say something else, but I'm sure your blog is rated "G".

If the yogurt things you're talking about are the vanilla yogurt, fruit and granola ones we started making them at home to take to work.

1/2 a cup of vanilla yogurt, 1/4 cup of frozen berries and top with granola. I make up 10 at a time and freeze them. If you take them out of the freezer at night and put them in the fridge they're perfect for breakfast once I get to work.

Tons cheaper than buying them at the cafeteria and I figure i've got more control over what goes into it so it's bound to be better for us too.

Also. So good.

Is your neighbor with the bad WiFi Patrick Dempsey perhaps? I wish he'd strengthen his signal at his vacation home. Sure would make life easier for me when I visit my parents!

I know what you mean about the blogging future. I'm still here, but my 3+ year streak of daily posting is totally shot.

I really hope you don't quit blogging.

I agree with you on number 6! I don't need that kind of friends either.

I stop by and visit you daily (talk about one sided, sheesh!). And I wear an 11 shoe size. But, since you didn't confess you have a shoe addict thing going (except for the boot), I probably won't stop by and browse through your closets. Just so you know.

I'm thinking an upgrade to your blog handle is in order. How about Busier Mom?

Can't really comment on number one because I don't want to give it anymore attention than it is already getting, but...yea.

And if I ever put on shoes again instead of flip flops I am willing to bet my size 10 and flattened to an 11, so I am not going to try it.

Also, why aren't you my friend on Facebook? hee hee

I wear a size 11 shoe too!

Funny - I also decided I'm over one-sided relationships too. There's one in particular that I know if I stop calling, I will never see or her new baby. Guess I will find out soon....

OK. So THAT's what you were doing on the ground outside my bedroom window. If I'd have known you just wanted free wifi reception, I wouldn't have called the police. Sorry about those handcuff bruises!

heh, groovyoldlady's comment was funny. I also suffer from terrible Procrastination Paralysis, especially right now when I'm "supposed" to be writing about 85 Holiday Gift Guide posts.

I hope you don't stop blogging either, but I completely understand where you're coming from. It's changed so much from when I started in Sept. of 2005. And it's frustrating, all the work I put into my review blog and food blog, but people at conferences say "I didn't know you had a review blog". It might be time to combine everything, or not, I don't know. Ugh.
