Really, I didn't leave that last post up because I thought you needed to know my wise thoughts on Mommy Blogging and the media.
I really have no idea what I've been doing since then. I just woke up and it was the 12th of April.
We actually had a weekend at home if you can believe that.
The weather was gorgeous and it was a great day for soccer for both Busy D. and Busy Boy.
Ha! You thought I forgot I have two other kids, didn't you?
Booya. I even remembered their names, so there.
I almost pointed out that I haven't said "volleyball" yet, but I did have to take Busy Girl to watch a college tournament, but it beat having practice.
We also went to a lacrosse match.
That was my first lacrosse match.
I don't get it.
Lacrosse seems to be a combination of soccer, hockey and Quidditch.
So, the deal is you can beat the heck out of someone with a stick and it's legal sometimes and not others?
Sign me up.
Anyway, Saturday night brought Bossy's No Book Tour to town, and I had a lovely time with Jamie of Blonde Mom, Rebecca of Toothwhale, Malia of Just Malia, Alli Worthington of Alli Worthington, Tori of Babybloomr, Kat and Dina.
Sunday started out innocently enough, but little did I know it was opening day of The Great Appliance Failure of 2010.
You may recall previous editions aptly named The Great Appliance Failure 2004, The Great Appliance Failure 2005, The Great Appliance Failure 2006, and The Great Appliance Failure 2007,
This year's lineup: the lawnmower and the vacuum cleaner.
To be accurate, the lawnmower is on life support as we speak. Dr. Busy Dad is the attending mechanic.
In the event of it's demise, we will be approaching bush hog territory.
Right now, the yard only appears to be missing a couch on the front porch and a planter made out of a spare tire.
Don't you wish you had neighbors like me?
I know I've been bitching about lawn mowers since you've known me, but seriously?
How hard is it to get one that, you know...WORKS?
We have 3 acres, we're kind of hard on them, but still....
And, the vacuum...oh, the vacuum.
It's not like we're doing the yard with the vacuum or anything, and we have mostly hard wood floors.
But, seriously...
How hard is it to get one that, you know...WORKS?
And, um...one that didn't technically belong to my father?
Shh...don't tell.

Ha! I have no suggestions for the yard. Three acres? Goodness. But for the vacuum I'll suggest Edison Vacuum on 8th Avenue South. They'll guide you right. If you have mostly hardwood floors, you might consider a Miele canister vac. I've had a five-year love affair with mine. It was fun seeing you on Saturday night!
I don't get lacrosse either!
We almost had washing machine disaster around here last week, but my buddy Dave the Appliance guy arrived just in time.
My sympathy.
I love your writing! I wish I could recommend a great vacuum cleaner but I haven't found one yet that the dog and three kids can't kill in less than six months.
My son plays lacrosse. We discouraged him from playing football b/c we felt it was dangerous. When he said he wanted to play lacrosse, I said "hey, great!" I had never seen a lacrosse game before. Oh my. Yes, they do hit you with sticks. And other things. And they don't mind if they have to sit in the penalty box for a minute or two if it means that they can land an illegal hit that will lay out a player from the other team and raise a cheer from the crowd. It's like a badge of honor.
3 acres? hmmm....
Not sure but for Vacuum, try taking the help of myBantu (http://www.mybantu). U also get opinions from friends, public and experts you know.
Cheers!
