Real Entry goes *here*

I've been trying to write something all day, but this crazy tornado outbreak has me a little on edge, and has left me unable to regale you with the reasons I think everyone should have a 20 year wedding shower

Something about all our linens wearing out at the same time, and how I don't want to be one of those people who don't notice things like that.

I was cleaning up the linen closet at my dad's house, and there were some mighty, mighty sad sheets and towels in there, and I tried to recycle them. and he was flabbergasted.

I swear, it would have been a charming and delightful tale had we not been glued to the TV all day watching Super! Duper! Pin! Point! Radar!

Just trust me, and I'll try to get some new towels (at least for the guest bathroom) before you visit, but I can't make any promises about the sheets.

I am so on board with that 20 year wedding shower idea. And, really, it has nothing to do with the fact that I will be having my own 20th wedding anniversary in 39 days! ;-)

My mom has long felt that 20 year wedding showers are a terrific idea. Esp. once we all got married and she saw how old her stuff seemed.

20 year shower? Sign me up. Hey, maybe we should take turns throwing said shower for one another...might catch on?

We are going on 7 years and we just replaced our sheets and towels. Each month we bought a new towel and by the end of the year we had new. Plus it gave us a fresh batch of rags for the garage.

This is the best idea ever! Let's start a movement!

Except I've been married 9 years and everything seems to be going downhill right about now. Can we agree to a shower every 10 years????

I still have three of my original wedding gift towels from 28 years ago. They are rags now, but I clean with them very nostalgically (nostagicly?). However, all my originals lasted many moons longer than the big, pretty, fluffy new ones I bought to replace them...

I was saying to my husband recently that everyone needs a 12 year wedding shower. All our kitchen goods, given to us at our wedding, are breaking and falling apart. It's so unfair that nobody wants to give me a new whisk, spatula or food processor. :)

Sign me up for a 15 year shower! lol

More importantly, stay safe this weekend! I've been watching the weather too. Its not looking good!
