Nothing, really.

I feel the need to write something, but I have no idea what.

What a week, I can't seem to concentrate on anything, though.

I need to go down the street and see what's up with the clean-up efforts from the Nashville Flood.

I also need to figure out how to get the lawn mowed (that wasn't a euphemism, ya perv) as the mower was finally called home.

Trust me, you don't want to be my neighbor right now.

Busy D. went outside to play, and we haven't seen him since.

Pretty sure he's in the front yard, no tellin' though.

We usually borrow the neighbor's mowing equipment when we have this problem, but well...I think it went down the river in the flood.

Even if it didn't, it would be awkward to inquire about it while he is bulldozing his entire farm.

We were very lucky in the flood, but I do feel bad for Busy D.

He saw a lot of the urgency on Sunday, and has been a little spooked since.

The soccer field is also devastated, I doubt they'll play again this season (if at all), and he's pretty broken up about it. He's been wearing his jersey around.

I thought about trying to find somewhere else for him to play, but I think it's too late in the season.

Busy rest of the month ahead, Busy Boy is graduating 8th grade, and there's lots of a$$ociated event$.

(Channeling my Inner Ke$ha)

And, then the summer marathon begins.

Busy Boy will be taking 2 high school classes this summer, Busy D. will be going to sports camps, Busy Dad is teaching summer school, and Busy Girl begins volleyball and (cross your fingers) will be working as a life guard.

That's just June.

It's OK. We need to get back in a routine.

A lot of people wish they could, too.

Just a tip: Make sure if you borrow your neighbor's mower that you can afford to replace it if it gets broken while you are using it. I would never borrow anything that I can't afford to fix or replace b/c with my luck it would break while I had it then you have bad blood with the neighbor if you don't pay for the thing. We have a neighbor that asked to borrow our zero turn mower and I had to decline. They would not be able to replace an $8,000 lawn mower. If they could afford that they would have a running mower of their own. Now my neighbor thinks I'm a beotch. She may be right, but she ain't borrowing the mower either.

i don't want to think about summer yet. I'm having trouble just thinking through next week. I feel bad for Busy D. I know how much soccer means to him. I can understand he feels pretty uneasy these days.

Do you feel as guilty about getting off easy with flood damage? I've been having a pretty bad case of the guilts myself. Doin' what I can to help, but I'm feelin' like it's a drop in the ocean.

Scary stuff down there (that wasn't a euphemism, either) thinking of you all.

Wow! I was just checking out all the flooding/damage on your flickr acct and HOLY CANNOLI!!! I'm so sorry to hear you guys were trapped by the flood waters, but very happy to hear you're all fine and that there was no damage at your house. Still... those pics are incredible, though I did have to laugh at the "Land Ho" bit! lmao You sound like fun people! I have a cousin that lives in Hendersonville and your voice/accent sounds very much like hers, though she isn't a TN native. heh Kinda freaky! If I didn't know better, I'd swear that was her recording that. =]

Hang in there! I'm glad your ok in the midst of it all!

I can relate to you, we have been through a few hurricanes here in Florida and I know the feeling of wanting to get back into your old life somehow.
