My kids play sports and we enjoy being outside, but the sun can be brutal, especially when you're at the soccer field for hours on end. We have a couple of varieties of pop-up shelters, but they are large and heavy and if you put them up, you want them to stay there a while. So, sometimes we just bake or struggle with an umbrella if it's raining.
SKLZ sent me a Sport-Brella to check out, and it's ideal for what we need. You can also use it for a play shelter outside, put it up over the sandbox or the kiddie pool, or you could even use it as a light tent for camping.
It's light, easy to set up (even by yourself) and it folds into a sleeve, kind of like the folding chairs you see at the soccer field, so you can carry it over your shoulder. It opens up to 7 feet wide, has ventilated windows on the side and can be set up in several different positions. Adults fit easily underneath.
It really did take me just a minute to set it up. It's very stable (comes with stakes, also) and it can sit on the ground like the picture, or you can extend the center pole and it can sit like a traditional beach umbrella. There's enough clearance for an adult to sit underneath, and we're going to take it to the beach in a couple of weeks.
Perhaps one of the most important features of the Sport-Brella is that it protects you from the sun's harmful rays. As a matter of fact, it offers sun protection of UPF 50+, is water repellent and protects you from over 99.5% of UVA and UVB rays.
The SKLZ Sport-Brella retails for $69.99. Also, be sure to check out the rest of the great sports items at SKLZ.

I would use the SKLZ Sport-Brella when I go my Nephews baseball games. It would be perfect to protect me from the bright sun or the occasional thundershower.

The boy doesn't do sports anymore (thank the gods) but this would be great for our upcoming beach trip! And since our back deck faces due west, it gets direct sun in the afternoons. How nice to be able to sit outside in the shade to read.

My daughter plays 12u travel softball almost every weekend on Saturdays and Sundays. We have tried the pop up tents it's just to much trouble. This sport brella would be awesome to have for sun, rain, and wind protection it looks like would be alot easier to transport and put up when you have to move from field to field every other game.

My family is really fair but love being outdoors when the weather is nice.
My father loves to watch his grandchildren at play. This way he can go to the beach with them and stay out of the direct sun. My father has had the MOHS procedure on his face twice already and this would help protect him and my little 6 month old nephew and my mother and well all of us.

I have already seen my sister go through cancer treatment. Though not skin cancer but it was awful.
This would enable her to be outside with her daughter and know that there was some sort of extra protection between her and the sun.
SHe lives in Florida (her husband's work is there).
Her daughter is involved in all sorts of sport activities.

The SKLZ Sport-Brella would be great for any fella and bella....
To set up and enjoy,
The beach or a toy,
To watch the tikes play,
And compete for the day,
To garden in shade,
To drink lemonade,
To read a good book,
To write, or to look.
I could use this everyday,
To keep the sun a safe distance away....
And share it with family too.
What a treasure for the crew!

I would use the sport brella to shade my family from the UV rays at the lacrosse field, soccer field or the baseball field. What a handi thing to have on those cloudy rainy days of spring and fall. It being portable would be a central fixture in the back of my van along side all the gear, chairs and blankets. Not only will it work long days on the weekend but it would also see much vacation time at the beach. Forget the cabana and the poles that have to be pulled and tugged into the fabric. Give me the simple life of the sport brella.

I'd use it at dog shows. If you're showing outside it can be raining or in the hot sun. It would be great to either shade the dogs or keep them dry.

We would use this one at the beach!
The sun can be brutal, and I like us to enjoy ourselves, and not be miserable. We also live on a lake, so we can fish right out of our backyard. It would come in handy on those hot fishing days.

I would use this at the beach and more often than that at the park! The kids love the big open field but without any protection from the sun I hate picnicing there! This awesome umbrella would solve my dilemma!

I live in Washington State. There is precipitation coming down on most days. But, even with the rain we still have outdoor sports, like everywhere else. I would happily use the Sport-Brella at all the baseball games, football games, soccer games, and while I am sitting in the boat while my hubby and children fish.

This is such a great product! I've been looking for something to use when I bring my daughters to the parks and swimming this summer. The group that we hang out with consists of three 2-year-olds and three babies (around 6 months old) and we're forever trying to find shade. This would be perfect!
