Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Diamond Edition

The classic Brothers Grimm tale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was released in high-definition Blu-ray for the first time ever on October 6!

The Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Diamond Edition includes a Blu-ray disc and a DVD in one package! You can enjoy the incredible high definition experience of Blu-ray at home, and use the DVD in the kids' room, in the car, or on your computer.

Blu-ray is a great option to make your favorite movies look great! It's a step up from DVD, and though it requires a special player, Blu-ray is up to 6 times the picture resolution of standard DVD and 7.1 channels of high-definition audio, which means your videos practically come to life.

The Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Diamond Edition's special features include:

Easy Bloom Plant Sensor

EasyBloom.jpgWhen the nice folks at EasyBloom asked if I wanted to try the Easy Bloom Plant Sensor, I said, "Yes" right away because we have places around the house where we've been trying to get something to grow for 17 years.

The EasyBloom Plant Sensor is an easy to use gadget that you put in the ground in the area you want to plant, and after 24 hours, you plug it into your computer via USB it gives you suggestions to plant in that area based on sun, soil and moisture. You can even narrow the selections down to bloom color, drought resistance and plant height.

Our problem area is very, very shady and is blocked by the house and the EasyBloom returned over 20 suggestions about what we can plant there! We're looking forward to get started there, as it's pretty bare.

In addition to monitoring soil conditions, the Easy Bloom Plant Sensor can also be used to diagnose problems with plants and it also has a Plant Care Tips Library listing over 5,000 plants. Also, bonus points for Easy Bloom maintaining the EasyBloom Blog.

We really like this, and it would make a great gift for a gardener or perhaps a housewarming gift.

Win a $10,000 Family Vacation from Healthy Choice and ConAgra Foods

delicious_moments.jpgConAgra Foods, the makers of brands such as Marie Callenders, Healthy Choice and Banquet, launched the Delicious Moments Facebook Contest.

The Grand Prize is a $10,000 family vacation!

Entering is easy, all you have to do is submit a video of yourself, family, or friends that shows what you would do if you had just 30 extra minutes a day

Hurry, though: entries can be submitted until October 25, 2009. 25 videos will be selected and posted on the page for users to vote for their one favorite. The video with the most votes will win a $10,000 family vacation.

Bonus! The next 50 entrants get $10 Walmart gift cards and coupon books.

We got the opportunity to try some of the ConAgra Foods. While I was familiar with the Banquet (mmm...fried chicken and kid-favorite chicken nuggets) and Marie Callender's (mmmm...pot pie) offerings, I have to say that I was very pleased to have discovered (re-discovered?) the Healthy Choice line. I had noticed them at the grocery before, and we may have even bought a dinner or two sporadically, but when I really studied them, there was so much to try out!

Healthy Choice has a large selection including Alll-Natural entrees, Complete Meals, Select Entrees, Cafe Steamers, Fresh Mixers and Soups.

The Healthy Choice Line emphasizes fiber, protein, whole grains as well as vitamins and anti-oxidants.

The All-Natural Entrees are high in fiber and protein and they even list Weight Watchers POINTS. My favorite of those was the Pumpkin Squash Ravioli. It's a little on the sweet side, but I loved it, and the kids did, too after a little trepidation at trying something with pumpkin and squash. The serving size was reasonable, sometimes I get annoyed with "healthy" entrees since it seems like it's never enough food, but I was satisfied with this one.

Of the Cafe Steamers line, I am totally stuck on Roasted Beef Merlot. These meals are really good, there's actual vegetables that taste and look like vegetables! These are a little different than the standard microwave meal, there's a ventilated top plastic dish, containing the main course, and the bottom dish is underneath and contains the sauce. After they cook, you mix them together.

Check them all out, I think you'll like them!

I always try to keep some decent frozen meals on hand since we are out of the house a lot in the evenings, especially during the fall sports seasons. These are great, the kids like them and my middle child, a growing 13 year old boy, has even been known to cook up one for a snack.

I was given a Wal-mart gift card to try out Marie Callender’s, Banquet and Healthy Choice meals. Blogging about the meals, the Take a Moment & Make it Delicious Facebook contest was optional. No other compensation was received, I just thought you might like to enter the contest and we really liked the Healthy Choice meals, in particular. That's all, really.
