Vaseline Intensive Rescue - rescue dry skin

Vaseline Intensive Rescue
We're in the middle of a long, cold winter, and it's wreaking havoc on skin, and Vaseline is on a mission to rescue it and help everyone have "good skin days" with Vaseline Intensive Rescue.

Women are especially vulnerable to dry skin, as a matter of fact, according to Vaseline:

o 77% of women say their dry skin makes them physically uncomfortable
o 86% of women report their quality of life is affected by dry skin
o More than half (53%) of women say they think about dry skin every day
o The majority of women (54%) have more bad skin days than good
- 47% of women say they would give up eating out for a month to make every day a good skin day and 39% say they would give up their favorite dessert

I got to try out some Vaseline Intensive Rescue lotion (they sent me some to try) and it's non-sticky, light and It doesn't have fragrance, and I thought it absorbed quickly. I've had trouble with dry patches on my elbows, and I have to say they're not there at all, anymore (The dry patches, not my elbows. My elbows are still there.)

Vaseline Intensive Rescue products include:
- Intensive Rescue Repairing Moisture – Repairs and softens skin
- Intensive Rescue Soothing Moisture – Repairs and softens skin; features light chamomile scent
- Intensive Rescue Clinical Therapy – Prescription strength moisturization available over the counter

Vaseline even recently enlisted some bloggers in the Dry Skin Patrol, sending them on "missions" to some of the coldest places in the country. The tour visited The Philadelphia Marathon, Winternational in Aspen, Polar Bear Club in Coney Island and Bear Grease Dogsledding in Duluth, MN.

From now until March 31, 2011 you could win your own trip to one of these destinations by following the video adventures of the Dry Skin Patrol on the Official Vaseline Facebook Page

Be sure to get your free sample of Vaseline Intensive Rescue and join them on a mission to rescue dry skin.

Don't Fret the Sweat at Blissdom '11

Dont-Fret-the-sweat.jpg

I've been meaning to tell you about Blissdom '11 for a while, I really enjoyed it.

One of the things that stood out to me was the quality of the Blissdom Sponsors. The exhibitors were relevant and engaging, and I can honestly say I learned about the products and companies who were there.

Don't Fret the Sweat, a campaign from Unilever, the makers of Degree deodorant, was a sponsor, and the fact that they bill themselves as, "A guide to sweat, kids and confidence" (and the fact they had a nice couch and electrical outlets) got my attention as I have 3 kids in 4 sports who generate some sweat.

It's weird to wake up one day, and realize your sweet-smelling baby has become a stinky kid. But, even more jarring is the fact that this also means they're on the way to becoming teenagers, and all the changes that go with it.

We've been down this path twice, and are getting ready to do it again with the 8 year old eventually. We've run the gamut of emotions from, "You're growing up, honey, it's time...", to, "For the love of all things good and holy, will you please use that deodorant we bought you?"

Either way, it's a new road for everyone to travel.

Don't Fret the Sweat is a place to learn about the changes tweens go through, including how to handle the new (and not so pleasant) smells.

It offers expert advice, answers to frequently asked questions and there's even a product matchmaker.

Don't forget to check out Don't Fret the Sweat on Facebook

I partnered with Blissdom to highlight "Don't Fret the Sweat", but my words are my own, and we've used a variety of the products for many years.

Invisalign Teen

Invisalign-Teen.jpgDid you know that Invisalign, the makers of clear, removable braces, has a product for teens?

Invisalign Teen works the same way as the adult product, and now teens can have the same teeth straightening technology made just for them.

Invisalign Teen is a teeth straightening technology that doesn't use wires and brackets, and it can give your teen a confident smile.

Invisalign_Mom_Advisory.jpgI'm working with Invisalign as part of the Invisalign Mom Advisory Board, and Busy Boy is currently in treatment, and I'm going to tell you about his adventures with it.

In general, the way Invisalign Teen works is that you have a series of custom made trays made of smooth plastic that fit over your teeth. They aren't retainers, they are actually made to align your teeth. The trays are worn for approximately 2 weeks each, and they are removed only for eating or as directed.

I know there are questions and misconceptions about Invisalign, and I'll be glad to answer them (or find the answer) for you, and I will be writing about them in the coming months.

Busy Boy has been in treatment for almost 2 months, and so far, so good!

I'll bet one of the first things you want to know if you can see them:

Invisalign Teen

Not bad, huh?

I was a little concerned about his compliance at first, but he's been great about wearing them, and it's going well. They're also great because he plays rugby and they can be removed.

Let's just hope he has teeth left to straighten...

So, things are going well, and be sure to come back for more information after his next visit, and maybe even some fun and games.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, be sure to check out the Invisalign FAQ

I am a member of the Invisalign Mom Advisory Board, my son received complimentary Invisalign treatment from Invisalign and I am speaking from my own opinions and personal experience.
