Tropicana Orange Juice - Put the good in your morning $100 Visa Gift Card giveaway

This giveaway is closed, but the next Tropicana giveaway is here.

**************************

This is a sponsored post from BlogHer and Tropicana.

Orange juice! All 5 of us have to be out the door by 7am during the week, so mornings can really be hectic, and it's important that we get the day started right.

Like most busy families, a "good" morning for us comes from preparing properly the night before when everyone finishes their homework, books are packed, lunches are packed and clothes are out and ready.

Eating a good breakfast is also key to putting the "good" in the morning, and we try to make sure that everyone gets a nutritious start to the day, and orange juice is a part of it. I have 3 kids, and we drink a lot of orange juice. As a matter of fact, I have one kid whose blood analysis might reveal he is about 93% orange juice.

It's well known that I'm not always the best at eating a good breakfast, I'm just not hungry in the morning, but orange juice is one of the few things that I like first thing in the morning, so it's often the way I begin my day.

You might have heard a lot of different things about orange juice, but did you know that Tropicana Pure Premium orange juice has no added sugar or artificial sweetener? It also counts as two servings of fruit, and while eating whole fruit is always encouraged, this is great news for people (and I may or may not be among them, not telling) who don't always get enough fruit in their daily diet.

A 59-ounce container of Tropicana Pure Premium orange juice has16 fresh-picked oranges squeezed inside, and an eight-ounce glass of orange juice provides a full day’s supply of vitamin C, as much potassium as a medium banana, and it's a natural source of the B vitamin folate,

Two of my children are teenagers, and sometimes teens don't eat the way they should, so orange juice is a great way for them to get nutrients they need and to start the day off right.

How do you put the "good" in your morning? Tell us below, and enter to win a $100 Visa Gift Card.

Do you know about (has sound) My Botanic Planet?

My Botanic Planet.com from Don Martelli on Vimeo.

This unique website is a collaborative effort between TruGreen, the nation's largest and most comprehensive provider of lawn and landscape services, and Memphis Botanic Garden, a non-profit that serves more than 43,000 school-aged children annually through organized education programs that provide an in-depth look into various families of plants, flowers and trees.

Based on the classroom experience offered through the Memphis Botanic Garden, TruGreen created My Botanic Planet.com with U.S. national standardized lesson plans and related interactive games for students to explore basic botany.

Next month, one lucky teacher will be selected to have the characters Inspector Nectar and Flavor Flores visit their school top perform the curriculum live, so be sure to check out My Botanic Planet for the up-to-date information.

The Tennessee Aquarium

Tennessee AquariumSince we stuck close to home for spring break this year, we did a few nearby things instead, and we went to the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga. (Disclosure: we were already planning a trip, and they were kind enough to give me 2 media passes, but we paid for the rest of our party).

If you're not familiar with it, the Tennessee Aquarium is a highly rated aquarium with over 10,00 animals
and an IMAX 3D Theatre, as well as extensive education and conservation programs.

The Tennessee Aquarium is located on Chattanooga's downtown riverfront and there are two buildings (admission includes access to both) with all kinds of things to do.

The River Journey building is a freshwater habitat with river otters, turtles, alligators, giant catfish and other freshwater life. The Ocean Journey building has great exhibits, too: penguins (PENGUINS!), sharks, butterflies and other ocean life.

Tennessee AquariumThe Tennessee Aquarium is a great spring break destination, especially with their Keeper Kids program.

From now through April 17th, 2011 kids can sign up for (free with admission and sign-up) behind-the-scenes experiences where they can help the vet, feed otters, turtles and partridges, release butterflies or be a SCUBA assistant.

We got to be a part of the Secret Reef Feeding Frenzy where we were treated like royalty high above the tanks and fed sharks, turtles, fish and more.

The Tennessee Aquarium has lots of events coming up, including:

- Born To Be Wild 3D opening at IMAX on April 8th, 2011.

- Ranger Rick’s Backyard Safari opening on May 12th, 2011.

Guests can tune into, and appreciate, nature from their backyard to the backyards of creatures from around the world.

For more than 40 years, the National Wildlife Federation has been inspiring youngsters with their award-winning children’s magazine, Ranger Rick.

Generations of readers (Hello? Are you my age? Ranger Rick Magazine was the coolest, and it's still around today!) have followed this wise raccoon and his friends as they come across and solve threats to the natural world. Now for the first time, Ranger Rick and his animal cast of friends will come to life at the Tennessee Aquarium.

So, if you're looking for something to do this spring break (or any time!) for all ages, go check out the Tennessee Aquarium and see what it has to offer. Be sure to pack your walking shoes and allow plenty of time to see everything!

Don't forget to follow the Tennessee Aquarium on Facebook and the Tennessee Aquarium on Twitter.
