We are very hard on appliances around here, so when I was given the opportunity to review an Electrolux Nimble vacuum cleaner, I was very excited to put it to the test.
We live in an old house, so the rooms aren't huge and we have some wood flooring. I was interested in this particular vacuum because it touts "more swivel, less struggle", and it also easily switches between cleaning carpets and bare floors.
Some features of the Nimble:
- Smooth swivel steering makes cleaning around furniture easy.
- Powerful 12amp cyclonic technology provides a deep clean and provides no loss of suction!
- Unique VersaTool 3-in-1 tool cleans stairs and crevices with ease.
- Cleans carpet and bare floors faster than ever with the one-touch floor selector.
It's a bagless upright with a washable HEPA filter. It has a 30 ft long cord and weighs about 18 pounds.
The first thing we noticed is that the Electrolux Nimble is nearly ready to use right out of the box, you just snap a couple of things in and go.
Next, it really is "nimble". There's a swivel action at the base that allows you to change direction smoothly with less pulling back and forth, and you can get to hard to reach places.
And, it's (relatively) quiet! I was expecting something of this size to make a lot of noise, but it doesn't.
The wand attachment is really easy to use and releases quickly. It comes with 2 attachments. The 3-in-1 tool, the VersaTool changes shape to clean different surfaces, and a brush attachment. We do find we use the brush attachment a little more, but that may be just due to our particular needs. Also, there's built in edge/baseboard suction that really gets things clean up close.
But, what you probably really want to know is, "Does it have power"?
Yes, we've been very pleased. With pets and kids and different floor surfaces, we can really dish out the debris, and the Nimble has really handled it with a lot of power.
Be sure to check out the Electrolux Facebook page!

The edge/baseboard suction would be awesome! We have two dogs and a cat so the pet hair is a booger around there.

I think the VersaTool sounds like just what I need to get pet hair off our wooden stairs and underneath furniture. The one-touch floor selector sounds great too, as we're a combination hardwood and wall to wall carpeting household with 2 pets. Pick me, pick me!!!

My vacuum cleaner recently bit the dust. I have small rooms and would love the easy maneuverability and a vacuum that actually picks up dirt off the floor!

I would love a vacuum cleaner that
a. actually works.
and b. doesn't require that I move ALL my furniture in order to actually clean under and around my furniture.
Please please please!

I love that it has a washable filter. They can be pricey!
Sadly we have a Roomba and I swear the dog hair on the two rooms that have carpet in our house (everything else is vinyl/hardwoods) is KILLING it. Sigh...

I would love to win this. I had an Electrolux for years. When it was time to replace it, I misguidedly bought an Oreck. I keep hoping it will quit so I can get another Electrolux. This would answer my prayer!! My favorite feature would be that I can use it all over the house - carpet, hardwood floors as well as the tile!

I so need that wand attachment to suck the goldfish cracker bodies from between the soda cushions. And quiet means I can vacuum during my son's nap time. It's sad how excited that would make me.

Sadly, I'd have to say that my favorite feature would be that it works. I think next would be that it is bagless. And if it really is quiet, that would be a super bonus. My kitties are terrified of the vacuum, and after I've used it, I don't see them for the rest of the day.

I saw that vacuum in the store and it's pretty. But what would be awesome is that we have hard wood, rugs, 2 kids, and 3 cats so an easy to use vacuum that could handle all that would rock!

You had me at vacuum. Currently without one because I "loaned" mine to my darling daughter so she could clean her apartment (she has a pet dog and a pet RAT) before moving out and I don't want it back. Can you blame me??? I so need this. SO need it.

I put off vacuum shopping this weekend, but we REALLY need a new one! I can pick up more with my fingers than our old girl sucks up. I love the sound of "one-touch" from carpet to floor. Maybe I'm just lazy, but I hate switching the carpet/floor thingie and then carrying it around.

Loving the idea that it can clean carpet AND bare floors. My house is about 50% of each. And now that my neurotic pregnant lady nesting is taking over, this would be just the thing to feed into the hysteria of preparing the house for a new baby... seeing how babies totally care that your baseboards are dusted and all.

I struggle with the carpeted stairs, so lightweight would be so very helpful. As would a vacuum that isn't ancient and has a working suction.

OMG. The feature I’m most interested in is - Powerful 12amp cyclonic technology. With our dog, I find it hard to keep up with the pet hair. We’ve gone through so many vacuums and it seems they never pick it all up. I NEED this.
