During BlogHer this year, I had the distinct pleasure of attending a party and dinner hosted by Sony Pictures and One2One Network where we were treated to a screening of ABC's upcoming series Pan Am (premiering Sunday, September 25th, 2011 10/9c).
On Saturday evening during BlogHer, we gathered at The University Club at the top of Symphony Towers in San Diego where we were treated to delicious hors d'oeuvres, an amazing dinner, beautiful views and the first episode of Pan Am.
Pan Am stars Christina Ricci, and is set in the 60's at the height of the Jet Age:
Passion, jealousy and espionage... They do it all – and they do it at 30,000 feet. The style of the 1960s, the energy and excitement of the Jet Age and a drama full of sexy entanglements deliciously mesh in this thrilling and highly-original new series.
In this modern world, air travel represents the height of luxury and Pan Am is the biggest name in the business. The planes are glamorous, the pilots are rock stars and the stewardesses are the most desirable women in the world. Not only are these flyboys and girls young and good looking, but to represent Pan Am they also have to be educated, cultured and refined. They're trained to handle everything from in-air emergencies to unwanted advances – all without rumpling their pristine uniforms or mussing their hair.
Air travel was a treat back then (I remember some of this), and Pan Am captures the excitement and glamour. It also has drama and and some unexpected plot turns to make you stick around to see what happens next.
Check it out beginning Sundays on September 25, 2011 on ABC.

Disclosure: I enjoyed the screening, a dinner and we received a Pan Am gift bag. I am under no obligation to write anything about the event or the show. I just thought you might like to know about it.
